Ayla Kaufman Internship

Internship with the U.S. Department of State, Embassy to Tunisia, U.S. Libya External Office

Ayla Kaufman BA'24

Interning at the LEO was vital for my professional development. I received the best possible introduction to U.S. foreign policy since I created an entirely new policy from the ground-up. Prior to my internship, my understanding of how foreign policy was created was vague. By nature of this assignment, I was uniquely able to witness every element of policy and programming, and learn their importance.
Connor Bradbury Internship

National Security and Intelligence Analysis Intern at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW)

Connor Bradbury BA'22

“I was a member of the Levant Team inside the Iranian Axis of Resistance portfolio, where I examined Iranian proxy and partner activities in Lebanon and Palestine, in addition to Israeli actions in the region. This internship has been one of the most formative experiences of my undergraduate career. This experience cemented my desire to work in national security, foreign policy, and intelligence analysis careers. It also gave me important skills to realize that goal.”
Hannah Kraus profile

Internship with the Trust for Social Achievement (TSA), virtual and in person in Bulgaria

Hannah Kraus MPP'22

"My internship helped me to understand the uses and limitations of different skills -- for example: when / how randomized
control trials in social policy can be implemented, or the ways in which research is used and designed for policy advocacy. I was able to participate in the design of a quasi-experimental evaluation specifically because of work I had done with statistics, surveys, and program evaluation in a prior job. All of these would be useful skills to pick up at Ford to prepare for this internship, but then again, Trust for Social Achievement was very good about tailoring the internship to my skillset and adapting projects based on my interests."
