What we do

Weill Hall

Advancing cutting-edge research and experiential learning

The International Policy Center (IPC) serves as the Ford School's hub for interdisciplinary research and experiential learning programs related to global security, development, health, and cooperation. To carry out its mandate, IPC manages a suite of activities and funding opportunities to advance essential international policy work.

Research

IPC organizes and co-sponsors research seminars throughout the academic year.

IPC provides funding to students to pursue meaningful research opportunities. The Center's Research Scholar awards permit Ford School PhD students to conduct research on issues related to global security, development, health, and cooperation. IPC also supports Ford BA and MPA/MPP students to build essential research skills through extended research project awards.

Experiential learning

The Ford School offers curricular opportunities for students who have a keen interest in international policy/affairs. Among the Ford School's international policy-focused courses, IPC administers overseas courses, including the International Economic Development Program and the BA Global Engagement Seminar

IPC offers an array of funding opportunities to Ford School students pursuing experiential learning, including our student-initiated project awards.

IPC holds skills-building workshops as part of its Aid & Development series.
